Action on our bills generally starts in a Joint House and Senate Committee. They hold public hearings and vote on whether to move bills forward. If your lawmakers sit on these committees, make sure they know that animals are important to you.

Learn about Connecticut Votes for Animals' legislative priorities. See which bills we support or oppose and progress reports on the status of where a bill stands in the legislative process.

CONTACT YOUR LEGISLATORS

Before you reach out to your legislators, check out some of CVA's tips for effective advocacy when calling or emailing.

Unsure of who your legislators are? Find out here and start establishing a relationship to let them know that animals are a top priority.

Your voice matters! We encourage you to Speak Up For Animals by reaching out to your legislators and sending in written testimony or testifying at a public hearing. Learn how to testify so that you can effectively advocate at the Capitol.
