Join Connecticut Votes for Animals (CVA) for this educational webinar, sponsored by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, on one of our top priorities for the 2024 legislative session.
CVA’s President, Dr. Jim Lombella, will discuss how you can advocate for animals here in Connecticut. He will provide you with resources to guide you through the legislative process and how you can Speak Up for Animals! He will also provide an overview of CVA's 2024 legislative priorities, including the proposed bill which would ban the use of Second-Generation Anticoagulant Rodenticides (SGAR's). Jim will be joined by Christine Cummings, Director of A Place Called Hope, with a special presentation on SGARs and their harmful impact on species that come in contact or consume rodents that have ingested these poisons. You will also learn the many ways our individual behaviors and practices can stop this harmful impact on animals as well as ways you can reach out and support this proposal. Together we can make a difference!
Rodenticides Poisoning CT’s Wildlife!
Hear from leading expert Christine Cummings from A Place Called Hope! She will discuss her firsthand experiences including data from medical testing on how these poisons are getting into the food stream and causing life threatening illnesses and even death to birds of prey such as hawks, owls, eagles and other wildlife, such as fox, bobcats and coyotes - and even our pets.
Join us and learn how you can make a difference for these animals!
