Shelter Regulation bill passed the Senate!! 2017 Session wrap-up report

30460167845_771d77960c.jpgFantastic news! The 2017 legislative session wrapped up last night and HB 6334 PASSED unanimously in the Senate! It now proceeds to the Governor's desk for his signature.

We are proud of Connecticut's shelters and dedicated rescuers - this bill will ensure animals continue to have a safe place to stay here in our state. Read more about the bill here.

CVA expresses our sincerest thanks to Rep. Brenda Kupchick for championing this bill through the legislature, to Rep. Themis Klarides, Senate leadership, and to all of the co-sponsors of this bill. Thanks so much for keeping Connecticut safe and humane!

Also, both of these bills FAILED: SB 130 that would tax non-profit pet adoptions and SB 522 that would allow a bear hunting season.
